This is the best mage of the Hortensius domes I have ever seen. It shows the domes and surrounding area so well that a new description is warranted. Dome 1 (see note below) is a perfect example of a hemispherical dome with a centered summit pit and well-defined edge where it meets the surrounding mare.

Я никогда не могу увидеть слишком много Восточного моря. Правда есть снятые Lunar Orbiter замечательные подробные изображения этого моря в высоком разрешении, которые показывают больше того, что мы видим с Земли, но я люблю смотреть сквозь Восточное море и наблюдать Горы Рука, вонзающиеся в черное лунное небо.

Кратеры формируются на существующей поверхности, которая продолжит изменяться в будущем. Например, Ламберт (Lambert), шириной 30 км, образован на лавовых полях Моря Дождей (Mare Imbrium) и вершина кратера с выбросами явно лежат на поверхности моря. Несколько последующих случайных ударов создали несколько кратеров на этих отложениях, по крайней мере два небольших кратера внутри Ламберта.
