There is no sea on Earth large enough to contain the Shark nebula. This predator apparition poses us no danger as it is composed only of interstellar gas and dust. Dark dust like that featured here is somewhat like cigarette smoke and created in the cool atmospheres of giant stars.

NGC 2359 – imeyushee formu shlema kosmicheskoe oblako s pohozhimi na kryl'ya pridatkami, kotoroe obychno nazyvayut Shlemom Tora. Razmer Shlema Tora dostigaet 30 svetovyh let – dazhe skandinavskomu bogu on ne pokazhetsya malen'kim.

Eto bylo neobychnoe solnechnoe zatmenie. Obychno Solnce zatmevaetsya sputnikom Zemli – Lunoi. Odnako v iyune 2012 goda nastupila ochered' planety Venera. Kak i pri solnechnom zatmenii Lunoi, pri priblizhenii Venery k Solncu ona byla vidna kak vse bolee tonkii polumesyac. Nakonec, ih polozheniya na nebe sovpali, i faza Venery stala ravna nulyu.

14 marta nastupilo polnolunie. Po udachnomu sovpadeniyu v den' chisla π rasstoyanie ot Luny do Solnca po eklipticheskoi dolgote na nebe planety Zemlya sostavilo 3.14 radianov (180 gradusov). Eshe odnim syurprizom dlya lyubitelei chisla π i nochnogo neba stalo to, chto Luna proshla pryamo skvoz' temnuyu chast' zemnoi teni – proizoshlo polnoe lunnoe zatmenie.
