Goryachii belyi karlik v molodom skoplenii zvezd

Na snimke molodoe (40 millionov let) skoplenie 20000 zvezd, NGC 1818, nahodyasheesya v 164 000 svetovyh godah ot nas, v Bol'shom Magellanovom oblake. BMO yavlyaetsya mestom burnogo rozhdeniya zvezd i potomu sluzhit ideal'noi laboratoriei dlya izucheniya zvezdnoi evolyucii.
V etom skoplenii astronomy nashli molodoi belyi karlik (v kruzhke) s temperaturoi poverhnosti okolo 50000 gradusov. Massa zvezdy-praroditelya (krasnyi gigant) ocenivaetsya v 7.6 mass Solnca. Ran'she schitalos', chto zvezdy tyazhelee 6 - 10 mass Solnca, vmesto obrazovaniya belyh karlikov, dolzhny vzryvat'sya, kak sverhnovye.
