Odnako eto razlichie okazyvaetsya statisticheski ne znachimym.

Drugoe ob'yasnenie proishozhdeniya etogo izbytka trebuet sushestvovaniya vokrug vspleska plotnoi obolochki, kotoruyu mog by sozdat' moshnyi zvezdnyi veter, chto opyat'-taki ukazyvaet na massivnye zvezdy.

Rentgenovskaya i gamma observatoriya INTRGRAL byla uspeshno zapushena v oktyabre 2002 g. Ustanovlennaya na ee bortu sistema IBAS (INTEGRAL Burst Alert System) Pozvolyaet registrirovat' polozhenie vspleskov s tochnost'yu 2-4' na chasti nebesnoi sfery. Za 2 mesyaca ekspluatacii takih vspleskov bylo zaregistrirovano 2. To est' mozhno ozhidat', chto za god INTEGRAL uvidit 10-15 gamma-vspleskov, koordinaty kotoryh budut izvestny spustya neskol'ko sekund posle nachala vspyshki.
