Notes for Epsilon Eridani
Alias HD 22049update: 4 November 2002
The planet(s):
- Detection method: Radial velocity and astrometry
- Basic data:
Name: epsilon Eridani b epsilon Eridani c?? M.sini: 0.86 MJ 0.1 MJ?? Semi-major axis: 3.3 AU 40 AU?? Orbital period: 2502.1 ± 20.1 d. 280 yr.?? Eccentricity: 0.608 ± 0.041 0.3?? Omega (deg): 34 T_peri (JD-2450000): -869.74 Inclinaison: - - Remarks:
20 oct. 2002: The hypothetical planet epsilon Eridani c is suspected from the dust ring morphology (Quillen & Thorndike 2002)
2001: Marcy et al. claim that " The Doppler behavior of magnetically active stars remains poorly explored, because so few stars are as active as Epsilon Eridani. Thus, Campbell's interpretation of a planet remains controversial. " - References:
