    Izuchenie spektra dalekogo kvazara pokazalo, chto vplot' do krasnogo smesheniya 6.4 soderzhanie zheleza izmenyaetsya nesil'no. Eto oznachaet, chto osnovnye proizvoditeli zheleza - sverhnovye tipa Ia - poyavilis' uzhe na krasnyh smesheniyah z > 10 (ob etih sverhnovyh sm. stat'yu "Have the Elusive Progenitors of Supernovae Type Ia Been Discovered?" - astro-ph/0308018).

    Krome togo, avtory popytalis' ocenit' massu chernoi dyry, nahodyasheisya v centre kvazara. Ona okazalas' ravnoi primeno 109 - 1010 solnechnyh mass. Po vsei vidimosti kvazar svetit pochti na predele svoih vozmozhnostei, t.e. svetimost' blizka k predel'noi (t.n. eddingtonovskoi), kotoraya v osnovnom opredelyaetsya massoi central'nogo ob'ekta.

Na bortu INTEGRAL'a ustanovleno neskol'ko razlichnyh teleskopov. PICsIT (Pixellated Imaging CaeSium Iodide Telescope) - Mnogopiksel'nyi cezii-iodnyi teleskop - rabotayushii v samom zhestkom diapazone detektor teleskopa IBIS. On sostoit iz 4096 nezavisimyh detektorov izlucheniya ploshad'yu 0.7 sm3 kazhdyi, registriruyushih fotony v diapazone energii ot 175 keV do 10 Mev. Etot detektor obladaet ochen' vysokim otnosheniem signal/shum, chto pozvolyaet provodit dlitel'nye (do 105-106 s) nablyudeniya. Odnako parametry, kotorymi budet obladat' teleskop na orbite mogut otlichat'sya ot teh, chto predpolagalis' dlya nego na Zemle. Dlya vyyavleniya etih razlichii sluzhat procedury "kalibrovki na orbite", rezul'tatam kotoryh posvyashena dannaya stat'ya.

    Nablyudeniya podobnoi, otkrytoi tol'ko v 2000 g., blizkoi karlikovoi irregulyarnoi galaktiki HIZSS 3 v radio i opticheskom diapazone proveli avtory dannoi raboty. Galaktiku, udalennuyu ot nas na rasstoyanie okolo 1.8 Mpk, ne udalos' razreshit' na zvezdy, no v nei byla obnaruzhena H II oblast' (oblast' ionizovannogo vodoroda), veroyatno, vokrug zony zvezdoobrazovaniya.

Odin iz primerov pered vami: dva izobrazheniya kvazara PMN J2004-1349 - rezul'tat gravitacionnogo linzirovaniya na lezhashei na luche zreniya spiral'noi galaktike. Odno iz izobrazhenii kvazara prosvechivaet skvoz' spiral'nuyu vetv' galaktiki-linzy (iz-za etogo ego blesk oslablyaetsya primerno na 3 zvezdnyh velichiny), chto pozvolyaet izuchit' raspredelenie pyli v ee diske.

    Sleva i sprava - dva izobrazheniya kvazara PMN J2004-1349, v centre - spiral'naya galaktika-linza. Pravoe izobrazhenie kvazara zametno oslableno poglosheniem v spiral'noi vetvi galaktiki. Na bolee kontrastnom izobrazhenii (na uvelichennom foto sprava) vidny eshe dva ob'ekta.
