Hochetsya eshe raz vydelit' dva otkrytiya, svyazannyh s zvezdami. Eto obnaruzhenie magnitnogo polya u zvezd planetarnyh tumannostei i otkrytie zvezdy s ochen' vysokoi prostranstvennoi skorost'yu. Zachastuyu sovremennaya astronomiya associiruetsya lish' s samymi goryachimi temami v nei: kosmologiya, chernye dyry, ekzoplanety, polety k telam Solnechnoi sistemy i t.p. Odnako i izuchenie zvezd po-prezhnemu daet novye vazhnye i interesnye rezul'taty. V etot vypusk my vklyuchili vsego dve (samye interesnye, na nash vzglyad) raboty po zvezdam. Odnako ih za pervuyu polovinu yanvarya poyavilos' nemalo. Vse zhelayushie priglashayutsya na prostory Arhiva.

Avtory obsuzhdayut, kak nablyudaemye polya mogut vliyat' na morfologiyu tumannosti. Oni polagayut, chto imenno magnitnoe pole otvetstvenno za bipolyarnuyu strukturu mnogih planetarnyh tumannostei.

Lish' neskol'ko let nazad oni byli obnaruzheny. Pervoi otkrytoi sistemoi etogo tipa stal istochnik SAX J1808.4-3658 (SAX v nazvanii ukazyvaet, chto otkrytie bylo sdelano na sputnike BeppoSAX). Imenno etomu ob'ektu posvyashena bOl'shaya chast' predstavlyaemogo obzora. Otmetim zdes' i druguyu svezhuyu stat'yu. "Constraining Brans-Dicke Gravity with Millisecond Pulsars in Ultracompact Binaries". V nei predlagaetsya ispol'zovat' pyat' izvestnyh akkreciruyushih millisekundnyh rentgenovskih pul'sarov dlya proverki teorii gravitacii.
