Potom, odnako, stalo yasno, chto vse-taki eto imenno sverhnovaya, prichem dostatochno redkogo tipa IIn/Ia. Ot centra galaktiki vspyshku otdelyaet okolo 300-400 parsek. Vozmozhno, eto samaya moshnaya (v opticheskom diapazone) iz vseh nablyudavshihsya sverhnovyh. Ee absolyutnaya velichina v maksimume sostavila -22.2 (svetimost' v maksimume byla pochti 10 v 45 stepeni erg v sekundu, eto pochti million millionov solnechnyh). Za pervye dva mesyaca bylo izlucheno bolee 10 v 51 stepeni erg (rech' idet imenno ob elektromagnitnom izluchenii, a ne o mehanicheskoi energii ili neitrino). Ob'yasnit' eto neprosto, osobenno uchityvaya, chto sverhnovaya poyavilas' v linzovidnoi galaktike (tip S0), gde temp zvezdoobrazovaniya dolzhen byt' nevysok (vse ranee nablyudavshiesya sverhnovye etogo tipa, byli svyazany s oblastyami zvezdoobrazovaniya). Hotya, detal'nye nablyudeniya pokazali nalichie polosy pyli v tom raione, gde vspyhnula sverhnovaya. T.o., nedavnee zvezdoobrazovanie moglo imet' mesto i tam.
