Obnaruzhenie takogo ob'ekta, po vsei vidimosti, pomogaet zapolnit' nekotorye dyry v klassifikacii galaktik.

Cu Vir byla obnaruzhena kak zvezda s peremennym spektrom v 1952 godu, a v 1994 bylo otkryto radioizluchenie etogo ob'ekta. Eto odin iz samyi moshnyh radioistochnikov sredi zamagnichennyh zvezd s himicheskimi anomaliyami. Period vrasheniya sostavlyaet primerno poldnya. Rasstoyanie do zvezdy vsego 80 pk. Pole na poverhnosti sostavlyaet neskol'ko tysyach gauss (dlya sravneniya, na Solnce - okolo odnogo gaussa).
