Metody priveli k pohozhim rezul'tatam. V chastnosti, bylo naideno, chto rekombinacionnye linii mogut byt' dostotochno horosho predskazany na osnove galakticheskih cvetov, no dlya stolknovitel'nyh linii prognoz sdelat' slozhnee. Bylo naideno, chto na osnove odnih tol'ko pokazatelei cveta mozhno dostatochno nadezhno klassificirovat' galaktiki s aktivnymi galakticheskimi yadrami ili zvezdoobrazovaniem.
