During observations of a field in Orion, we discovered a new UV-type variable
star. A single flare was detected on HJD 2454781.59 (see the light curve).
Our observations were carried out at the Astrotel-Caucasus observatory using its
300-mm
Ritchey-Chretien
telescope, equipped with an Apogee Alta U9000 CCD camera and a V filter.
In total, 571 images with 5-minute exposures were obtained on JD 2454780 - 2454895.
For basic reductions for dark current, flat fields and bias, and for photometry of
the new variable, we used MaxIm DL software.
The comparison star was GSC 01321-00472 (06:05:45.43, +20:09:20.4, J2000;
V = 12.04), the check star was USNO-A2.0 1050-03072566 (06:05:35.13, +20:11:57.8,
J2000). The V magnitude of the comparison star was taken
from FON Astrographic Catalogue (Kislyuk et al. 1999).
The coordinates
of the variable star were drawn from the 2MASS catalogue (Cutri et al. 2003). The
2MASS colors of the variable (J - H = 0.763, H - K = 0.224) suggest a late spectral
type.
